Sources
Sources are functions that generate a visual signal. They are the starting point of any Hydra visual.
osc() — Oscillator
Makes a striped pattern like an oscillator signal.
osc(frequency, sync, offset)
| Parameter | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| frequency | 60 | Stripe frequency |
| sync | 0.1 | Movement speed |
| offset | 0 | Color offset |
noise() — Perlin noise
Generates an organic noise pattern.
noise(scale, offset)
| Parameter | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| scale | 10 | Noise scale |
| offset | 0.1 | Animation speed |
shape() — Geometric shapes
Makes regular polygons.
shape(sides, radius, smoothing)
| Parameter | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| sides | 3 | Number of sides |
| radius | 0.3 | Shape size (0-1) |
| smoothing | 0.01 | Edge blur |
voronoi() — Voronoi diagram
Makes a cellular pattern.
voronoi(scale, speed, blending)
| Parameter | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| scale | 5 | Number of cells |
| speed | 0.3 | Movement speed |
| blending | 0.3 | Color blending |
gradient() — Gradient
Makes a color gradient.
gradient(speed)
solid() — Solid color
Makes a single-color background.
solid(r, g, b, a)
src() — External source
Uses input sources (s0-s3) or output buffers (o0-o3).
Combining sources
Sources can be combined with blending functions:
